About the role
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you’ll contribute to our success by promoting Elara Caring’s philosophy and delivering direct physical therapy services in patients' homes. This is a physically demanding role in a high-stress environment, with potential for irregular hours including on-call.
- Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patient’s physician to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Follows Plan of Care as established by the Physical Therapist, reporting any changes in patient status immediately.
- Adheres to the State Practice Act Guidelines and verifies the Plan of Care prior to each visit.
- Incorporates patient care goals from the Plan of Care into therapy.
- Instructs patients and families in the safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.).
- Teaches patients and caregivers the therapy home program.
- Handles, lifts, and transfers patients, and moves equipment, requiring frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and supporting up to 50 pounds.
- Able and willing to travel within the branch/office coverage area, with up to 50% travel required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
- 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred.
- Must have a dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment.

Pay
The compensation range is $31.00 to $38.00 per point, which can include additional earnings for work beyond quota, bonuses, on-call, or other performance-based compensation variables. Compensation is determined based on education, job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience, and may vary by location.
