About the role
The Home Health Nursing, LPN/LVN work assignments are often straightforward and of moderate complexity. The role involves assessing and recording patient condition by monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, helping patients care for themselves, and teaching assisted living techniques.
Responsibilities
- Makes decisions regarding own work approach/priorities, and follows direction.
- Understands own work area professional concepts/standards, regulations, strategies and operating standards.
- Affixes medications, changes bandages, administers oxygen supply and equipment.
- Helps patients care for themselves and teaches family members how to assist with personal hygiene needs, lifting, turning, and re-positioning the patient.
- Teaches assisted living techniques such as using a cane or walker, using special utensils to eat, and appropriate ways to lift, turn, and re-position the patient.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Florida
- CPR certification
