Home Health Aide (HHA) / PCA, Suffolk County

Joint Commission accredited home health care agency seeking a professional, experienced Home Health Aide (HHA/PCA) for in-person cases in Riverhead and across Suffolk County, NY. English/Spanish-speaking aides are needed. Some cases may have client-specific caregiver preferences, handled in accordance with applicable law and agency policy.

About the role

Day, night, and overnight shifts available. Pay range: $19.50 to $20.00 per hour. Responsibilities include personal care, companionship, light housekeeping, and meal preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Remind patients about medications under the direction of healthcare professionals.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Assist with nutrition and diet activities such as shopping and meal preparation.
• Help with bathroom/bedpan routines, walking, and transfers (bed to chair or wheelchair).
• Document patient care accurately and on time.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Support medical documentation and record keeping.

Requirements

• Valid, current HHA/PCA certification.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Two professional references.
• Current annual physical with updated immunizations.
• Prior caregiving or home health aide experience required.
• Familiarity with homecare or similar healthcare settings.
• Able to lift and move patients safely and use a Hoyer lift.
• Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
