Home Health Aide - HHA
About the role
The office in Lufkin provides caregivers for the Deep East Texas area including Crockett, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Berea, Pennington, Groveton, and many others. We are seeking one-of-a-kind individuals for job opportunities with our local team.
Responsibilities
- Help clients take prescribed medication
- Absist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (Transferring assistance using hoyer lifts or gait belts or walkers and wheelchairs.)
- Absist clients with personal care and hygiene (Bathing assistance and incontinence care)
- Help clients with routine exercises
- Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
- Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop (grocery shopping, salon, dr appointments)
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Requirements
- Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate
- Experience with Bathing assistance and incontinence care
- Experience with Transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt
- Strong ethics
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia
- 2 years professional experience with the elderly in a Facility or with an agency or have a CNA certification
Qualifications
Visiting Angels Lufkin offers a variety of shifts including Full Time, Part Time, 8 Hour Shifts, 10 Hour Shifts, and 12 Hour Shifts.
Skills
Must have a passion to serve others, excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid, knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints, willingness to adhere to health and safety standards, respectful and compassionate, experience with Bathing assistance and incontinence care, experience with Transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt, strong ethics, and knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia.
