About the Role

As a Resident Assistant (Home Health Aide), you’ll be a companion and friendly face, supporting residents with activities of daily living in a warm, homelike environment while promoting their independence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Trinity/SPHP Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with residents and families.
  • Adhere to the SPHP Code of Conduct and demonstrate accountability for meeting resident and family needs.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility in a respectful, compassionate manner.
  • Assist residents with medication management as needed.
  • Encourage and support resident independence and dignity.
  • Monitor residents' safety and well-being, reporting any changes to the LPN/RN.
  • Consult with the LPN/RN on any changes in residents' health status.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents by understanding their personal histories, preferences, and routines.
  • Help with light housekeeping and meal service to maintain a safe and clean living space.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Promote a warm, friendly, and respectful environment.

Requirements

  • NYS Home Health Aide Certification.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in senior care, healthcare, or assisted living preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow care plans and safety protocols.
  • Working knowledge of computers, including electronic health records, email, and required in-servicing.
  • Physical, visual, and auditory ability adequate to perform resident care.
  • Maintain composure and positivity in a high-stress environment.
  • Promote physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
  • Ability to work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illness.

Pay

Pay Range: $18.95 - $22.50 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary based on location.

Schedule

Part-time nights with every other weekend, 12 hours per week.
