Home Health Aide/CNA (Part Time)

About the role

The Home Health CNA is a paraprofessional member of the home care team who provides personal care services under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist. Key responsibilities include observing patients, reporting observations, documenting care, preparing meals, taking vital signs, assisting with mobility, performing therapeutic tasks, administering medications, and maintaining cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, changing bed linen, assisting with dressing and undressing, skin care, toileting, and cleaning the living area.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding the patient, if necessary.
• Take and record oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered.
• Ambulate and exercise patients according to the plan of care.
• Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extension of therapy services.
• Administer medications as directed.
• Handle patients' laundry as needed.
• Maintain patient safety by operating equipment safely and addressing safety needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion and passing of an approved Nursing Assistant program in the State, CPR certification, and HHA certification (if required by state).
• Entry-level knowledge of medical basics and Home Health.
• Strong emotional stability, compassion, care, and patience.
• Problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to measure vital signs, record patient information, and maintain proper hygiene.

Physical Requirements

• Standing, sitting, talking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and using hands and fingers to operate computers, telephones, and keyboards.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 100 lbs.
• Operating various equipment based on department.
• Hearing: In-person speech, telephone, other remote speech, and other sounds.
• Vision: Near visual acuity, far visual acuity, and peripheral vision.

Pay

Compensation Range: $18.15 - $24.14 per hour. Reasonable Pay Estimate: A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $18.15 - $24.14 per hour.
