Home Health Aide / CNA

About the role

NHC HomeCare Merritt Island is seeking a Home Health Aide to provide personal care services to patients in their homes. This position requires a Home Health Aide (HHA) license and may require additional certifications such as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding to patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as directed by a Registered Nurse.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during visits.
• Follow all infection control procedures.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Home Health Aide training program meeting 42 CFR 484.80 standards.
• Documentation of successful completion of a Home Health Aide training program meeting state regulations.
• Proof of current State of Florida CNA certification.
• Graduate nurses with proof of graduation from an accredited school of nursing and waiting to take their boards for licensure in Florida.
• RNs and LPNs with proof of current licensure in another state or in Florida.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Pay

Hourly pay ranges from $14 to $16 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Hours vary based on patient needs and may include evenings and weekends.
