Position Overview

Performs routine patient care, support and related non-professional household services necessary to meet the hygiene, activities of daily living, and comfort needs of the homebound patient, in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Integrates education, technical competence and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers. Exercises sound judgment and developed clinical skills to support the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or teaching duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) provided prior to start date
  • Home Health Aide (HHA) certification provided prior to start date
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
  • Valid Driver’s License (state Department of Motor Vehicles)
  • Automobile insurance (for Home Health and SCAH departments)
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification as needed for Coming Home Hospice department

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare practices, and universal precautions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives

  • Shift Hours: 8
  • Days of the Week: Variable
  • Weekend Requirements: Every weekend
  • Weekly Hours: 16

Pay

Pay Range is $29.00 to $40.59 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program.
