Responsibilities
- Perform and document direct client care delivery as specified on care plan.
- Observe, record, and report information about client.
- Aid with personal care needs including shampooing hair, dressing, oral hygiene, denture care, and maintenance of hearing aids, eyeglasses, and prosthetics.
- Maintain routine and special skin care, positioning and turning in bed, perinea care, and urinary catheter care.
- Bathe client, provide nail care, assist with toileting and elimination, collect specimens, measure and record vital signs, measure and record intake and output, perform ostomy care, and perform simple dressing changes.
- Administer pre-poured medications as instructed.
- Use prescribed medical equipment and supplies according to Home Health Aide guidelines.
- Ambulate clients, perform range of motion exercises, transfer and align using special equipment, and perform household duties.
- Shop, prepare meals, feed clients, wash dishes, change linens, maintain cleanliness, escort clients, and perform errands as directed.
- Recognize and respond to emergencies following agency procedures.
- Support clients with money management as documented on the plan of care.
- Comply with agency confidentiality policies, demonstrate respect for clients' rights, and maintain privacy and personal property.
- Participate in required in-service training, health assessments, and competency evaluations.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a New York State Department of Health approved Home Health Aide Training Program or Personal Care Aide Upgrade Program.
- Works without regular supervision in clients' homes.
- Frequently exposed to client elements.
- Sometimes works weekends and holidays.
Pay
$19.10/hr. Free training provided. Asylum seekers are encouraged to apply!
