Responsibilities

• Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
• Handle stressful situations effectively and communicate clearly.
• Provide accurate information about products and offer product samples.
• Recommend and suggest products to customers.
• Inform customers of Drug GM and Home specials.
• Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.

Requirements

• Minimum ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math; counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Desired retail experience.
• Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing.

• Ability to create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated.

Skills

• Knowledge of products sold within the department.
• Ability to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Ability to offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Ability to recommend Drug GM and Home items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Ability to inform customers of Drug GM and Home specials.
• Ability to review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
• Ability to label, stock and inventory department merchandise.

Pay

Salary range: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour.
