About the role

Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products. The Company is headquartered in Cary, N.C., and serves residential and commercial customers across the new construction and Repair & Remodel (R&R) markets. This position is permanent and full-time, with a shift of Day Shift, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Reviews load sheet and load for the day’s deliveries
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the equipment. Reports any issues to Supervisor
• Fuels the vehicle and authorizes fuel bill
• Transports materials in a safe and efficient manner
• Observes all DOT regulations, rules of the road, and defensive driving techniques
• Locates customer’s business/residence and confers with client as to where to unload materials
• Safely unloads materials, checks quality, reviews packing slip with customer, and secures customer signature
• Deals with customers in a courteous and professional fashion and accommodates customers’ requests whenever possible
• Picks up materials from vendors, and checks and verifies quality and quantity of materials before receipt
• Returns to plant and unloads vehicle
• Rotates functions with the department as needed and assigned by Supervisor. Works as a contributing member of the department team
• Completes all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately including driver’s logs, timecards, etc
• Maintains good housekeeping in the department

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain a D.O.T. Medical Certificate
• 2 years of previous tractor trailer driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
• Previous hands on delivery experience preferred
• Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
• Customer relations skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time
• Must be able to travel frequently
