Home Care Assistant

What You'll Do

• Traveling to client’s homes throughout the Messiah Lifeways Community
• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assisting with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, including the use of mechanical lifts when properly trained
• Helping maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment
• Identifying and reporting safety concerns within the home
• Completing client documentation and visiting notes at the end of each shift
• Participating in care team meetings as needed
• Providing compassionate companionship while promoting each client's dignity, independence, and well-being
• Following all policies, procedures, and safe work practices

Flexible Scheduling Options

• Shifts may be scheduled as early as 6:00 AM and extend into the late evening hours, depending on client needs.
• Part-Time: Minimum of 16 hours per pay period
• 8 weekend hours per month
• 4 holiday hours every other holiday
• PRN: Flexible scheduling based on availability and client needs
• Minimum of 8 weekend hours per month
• 4 holiday hours every other holiday

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation with active auto insurance
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous home care or caregiving experience is preferred but not required—we're happy to train the right candidate!
