About the role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide supports to adults with developmental disabilities/Autism who desire to continue living in a home environment. Your daily actions will enable each individual to flourish in their desired home context, maintain or increase their independence, and live their best lives. You will provide the highest quality care for each individual, assisting them in their own homes or natural family homes.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with developmental intellectual disabilities through a variety of tasks, activities, and/or community engagement.
• Provide supports as outlined in the individual's plan of care, including safe crisis management techniques, emotional support, and positive reinforcement.
• Maintain appropriate case notes for the individuals served.
• Engage in supervision, training, and professional development.

Requirements

• Must meet all qualifying and ongoing job criteria, including background checks, physical examination, and a driving history record.
• Driving Requirements:
  • Valid US driver's license for at least two years (not including permit time).
  • No serious traffic convictions within the past three years (e.g., DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or three or more traffic violations/at-fault accidents).
  • Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours with valid registration, inspection stickers, and auto insurance. Proof of coverage as a driver on the policy is required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of direct care experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred.

• Ability to manage time and work independently within provided guidelines.
• Proficiency in workplace applications, platforms, and technologies, or ability to learn them.
• Ability to navigate network drives and perform basic hardware troubleshooting.

Working Conditions

• Work in program sites and the community, providing direct care and support.
• Stand, sit, or run to provide proper care and supervision.
• Move and stay with an individual to ensure safety, even if they struggle to meet expectations.
• Assist individuals who have fallen, regardless of weight or size.
• Walk, climb stairs, and perform household tasks (e.g., laundry, cleaning, meal routines, shopping) while ensuring individual safety and compliance with their plan of care.

Schedule

Part-time positions available in Newtown Square with the following current shift options:

• Monday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Schedules are built around your availability and based on client needs.

Pay

Hourly rate starts at $17/hour, with increases based on education and experience.
