About the role
Provide instructional services necessary to educate all students to high standards that align with district state and federal requirements guidelines and standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans based on district and state standards.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance educational programs.
- Engage students in learning activities and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learners, including those with special needs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in education.
Requirements
- Valid Indiana teaching license for the assigned grade levels and/or subject areas.
- Eligibility to obtain an alternative teaching credential if not yet licensed.
- Knowledge of effective practices including principles, theories, procedures, and techniques used in lesson plan development and classroom instruction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and strategies for supporting English language learners.
- Experience with the science of reading standards for the 2026-27 school year, as required by the Early Literacy Endorsement.
Qualifications
- Pass the appropriate licensing examination for the assigned grade levels and/or subject areas.
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- At least one year of teaching experience preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain student engagement.
- Proficiency in using technology tools for teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of Indiana state and federal education policies and guidelines.
