About the Holiday Gift Show

The Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) is seeking well-crafted and appealing gift items at reasonable prices for its Holiday Gift Show (HGS). We accept:

  • Small ornaments and holiday-related gifts
  • Jewelry, pottery, and ceramics
  • Candles
  • Wooden toys and other objects
  • Knitted or crocheted items
  • Fiber art
  • For Exhibiting Members only: original cards and small prints/paintings

Jurying Process

Prospective vendors are invited to bring samples of their work to RAC on two drop-in Jurying Days for in-person review by the committee. The committee will assess quality, quantity, and price.

  • Monday, September 14 (5–7 PM)
  • Tuesday, September 15 (12–2 PM)

You will be notified of acceptance status on or before Friday, September 18. Items may be refused for unsuitability, poor condition, inferior quality, failure to adhere to guidelines, oversized dimensions, or excessive pricing. Items previously unsold in RAC Holiday Gift Shows will not be accepted.

Fees and Commission

  • RAC Exhibiting Members and Supporting Members: $25 entry fee (membership dues must be current) + 40% commission on gross sales.
  • RAC Non-Members: $35 entry fee + 40% commission on gross sales.

Note: Participation in the HGS does not count toward the three shows required to become a RAC Exhibiting Member.

Volunteer Requirements

All participants must volunteer for a two-hour shift during the show. Vendors may opt out of this requirement for a $40 fee payable at registration.

Item Guidelines

  • Ornaments: Maximum of 5 designs, 5 pieces each.
  • Small items: Jewelry, small knits, table décor — 10 items maximum.
  • Large items: Pottery, sweaters — 3 items maximum.
  • Jewelry vendors: Provide your own display forms and label them with your name. Display space is limited.
  • Exhibiting Members only:
    • Small unframed art or prints: approximately 10” x 12”, maximum of 10 pieces.
    • Cards: 20 individual cards or 5 pre-packaged card sets.

Provide a simple, tasteful display basket or box (no holiday embellishments) labeled with your name.

Accepted item quantities may vary at the committee’s discretion. Simplify your inventory by pricing similar items uniformly (e.g., five necklaces priced between $30–$40 could all be set at $35). If inventory runs low, the Gift Show Committee will request replenishment; do not restock without consulting them to update your Inventory Form.

Drop-Off

Accepted items, member cards, and prints must be dropped off on Monday, November 23, or Tuesday, November 24. A sign-up link for individual drop-off times will be shared with accepted vendors closer to the date.
