Role Summary
The Hoisting Superintendent 1 (Lift Director) (Union) will provide day-to-day supervision of all hoisting activities for a project, including but not limited to: asset scheduling, properly assigning operators, training, Assembly and Disassembly crew coordination and lift planning/scheduling. This position will ensure all hoisting assets are maintained in good working condition and in compliance with all inspection requirements.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Covers core responsibilities such as coordinating preplanning activities, leading and training Assembly and Disassembly crews, conducting quality control checks, and managing crane set up and movements.
- Supports hoisting activities for projects in an assigned area, ensuring all activities align with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.
- Maintains and repairs hoisting equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, and documents these activities.
- Manages and oversees staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs related to safety, quality, and EEOC for all hoisting activities.
- Communicates effectively with internal and external business partners and stakeholders, and collaborates with project teams in progress meetings.
- Performs operator evaluations, recruits, interviews, and hires local operators, and tracks hoisting budget and costs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Accurately performs work and communicates verbally and in writing.
- Uses proficiency in MS Office and advanced knowledge in 3D Lift Plans.
- Achieves productivity in assembly and disassembly tasks, and optimizes lift planning and documentation.
- Builds and maintains relationships with customers and team members.
- Manages and repairs crane maintenance operations.
Education and Experience
- High School/GED or equivalent (Required).
- 5+ years mobile crane assembly/disassembly, operator, inspection, and maintenance and repair field experience (Required).
- 3+ years supervisory experience in the mobile crane assembly/disassembly, operator, inspection, and maintenance and repair field (Required).
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted drivers license required.
- Periods of overnight travel may be required.
- Exposure to extreme conditions (hot or cold) may occur.
- Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling.
- Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen may also be required.
