Histotechnologist

Summary JOB SUMMARY: Performs routine histology to include Immunohistochemistry and Special Stains. Demonstrates competency and proficiency in embedding and cutting routine and biopsy tissue. Must be able to articulate knowledge of testing principles, computer skills, quality control, and pre/post-analytical problems. Will assist AP Manager and Team Leader on Quality Assurance & Improvement and supervision of daily workflow and staffing. REQUIREMENTS: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associates degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. As Life Sciences or related field. 1 - 3 years of experience. HT (ASCP). Must demonstrate proficiency with IHC/SS validations and maintenance of equipment. Must be able to demonstrate and coach others on proper technique with routine Histology functions. Must be able to manage projects. Qualification in IHC desirable.
