Responsibilities

• Performs routine or complex histologic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment while upholding the values of the organization.
• Provides and demonstrates exemplary customer service skills throughout the preanalytical, analytical and post analytical processes.
• Serves as a technical resource for less experienced staff and may supervise employees within a section of the department.
• Assists in research projects.
• May accession tissue specimens; prepares routine specimens for fixation in automatic processors.
• Embeds and sections specimens using a microtome.
