Histotechnician - Per Diem

Role: Histotechnician in a per diem capacity, primarily working on the second shift. The position involves processing tissue specimens, preparing histopathological slides, performing staining procedures, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure quality standards. Responsibilities Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic analysisSection embedded tissues using a microtome and mount slidesPerform immunohistochemical tests and routine or special stainsOperate, maintain, and document preventive maintenance of lab instrumentsAccurately record test results and equipment data, ensuring quality control compliance Qualifications & Skills Associate's degree in histology or high school diploma with over a year of histology experienceAt least one year of experience as a histotechnicianExperience with immunohistochemistryAbility to pass a standardized color blindness testFamiliarity with routine histology procedures and laboratory SOPsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExperience working in high-volume laboratory environments
