About the role
The Regions Hospital Histopathology Department is seeking a self-motivated, quality-focused Histotechnician to join their team. The position supports multiple hospitals and clinics in the region.
Responsibilities
- Process small non-complex specimens under the direction of and as outlined by the histopathology medical director.
- Perform tests and procedures in a histology laboratory.
- Obtain, receive, and process surgical pathology specimens from patients of all ages.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Associates degree from an accredited Histotechnician program or equivalent.
- Licensure/Registration/Certification: ASCP or ASCPi board certification as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist (new graduates must obtain certification within 6 months of hire).
- Experience: One year of full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory within the last five years.
- Preferred: Previous experience in grossing of small specimens, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and direct immunofluorescence (DIF).

Full-time (FTE): 1.0 (40 hours weekly), Day Shift Required.
