Histology Technologist- Surgical Pathology/Histology 64hrs Biweekly Days

Qualifications

• Registered Histology Technician (HT) or Histology Technologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
• Past experience performing tissue handling and dissecting/grossing prior to April 24, 1995, with documentation of tissue handling and dissecting/grossing proof from previous employers
• Education or education combined with experience in one of the following combinations:
• Associate of Science degree in an Applied Science or equivalent as outlined in CLIA-88 (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988) Regulations
• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam, and past experience performing tissue handling and dissecting/grossing prior to April 24, 1995, with documentation of tissue handling and dissecting/grossing proof from previous employers
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Bachelor of Science degree (preferred)

Physical Requirements

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
• Physical Demands: May require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
