Histology Technician I

About the role

Monitors the technical functions within histology. These functions include but are not limited to quality of work, procedures and methods, and expenses. Performs the duties of a staff histotechnician.

Responsibilities

• Ensures laboratories comply with JCAHO, DHEC, CLIA, and CAP standards.
• Monitors technical functions within histology.
• Performs duties of a staff histotechnician.
• Assures compliance with laboratory standards.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• HT(ASCP) certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• If not certified, must complete a NACCLS Accredited HT/HTL Program and be certification eligible.
• Certification must be achieved within 1 year of hire.
• Salary may be 10% less until certification is achieved.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree from an accredited college/university.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Problem identification and resolution abilities.
