Histology Supervisor - Full Time
About the role
The position involves preparing histologic and cytologic specimens for microscopic analysis by the Pathologist and Cytotechnologist. Responsibilities include embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining tissue specimens. Performing immunohistochemical and special stains, maintaining quality control records, supervising and training histology technicians, troubleshooting staining problems, and validating new stains and IHC antibodies as needed.
About the Laboratory
The laboratory at Montrose Regional Health is fully accredited by the Joint Commission of Accredited Healthcare Organizations and registered by the State of Colorado. It is staffed by certified medical technologists and technicians working under the supervision of two full-time pathologists. The lab is a fascinating, busy, and interesting place.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience with CAP and/or JACHO inspections required.
