Histology & Pathology Lab Assistant

Job Summary

A Top-Tier Global Pharma Leader in Groton, CT, is seeking a meticulous Lab Technician - I for a 1-year contract role. This 100% on-site, first-shift position offers an exceptional opportunity to gain foundational experience in GLP laboratory operations, supporting critical safety studies and early research that drive first-in-human clinical development.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory set-up for necropsy and histology portions of both GLP and non-GLP safety studies.
• Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GLP regulations, and EHS safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with pathologists and lab managers to ensure accurate specimen collection, chain of custody, and documentation.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure full traceability of all specimens and workflows.
• Absorb and execute routine technical support functions under structured guidance.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma with 1-3 years of laboratory experience OR an Associate Degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: Associate Degree in Animal Science, Histology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulated environment.
• Basic technical exposure to tissue collection or histology techniques (microtomy, embedding, staining).
