About the role

The Mother Baby Unit (MBU) at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is a specialized unit that provides exceptional postpartum care for mothers, newborns, and high-risk antepartum patients. The unit operates 24/7 and offers expert care with a strong focus on bedside education to empower families in caring for themselves and their babies.

Requirements

• Require Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days of hire
• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program
• Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) required for new hires after 2012
• Any OB/Neonatal Certifications obtained during employment must be maintained during the remainder of employment

Qualifications

• Required qualifications include a minimum of $32.50 hourly rate, with a maximum of $51.10, based on years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within the organization
• Minimum rate starting at $32.50, max of salary range is $51.10. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position, they qualify for certification pay of $1.50
• Professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice

Skills

Nurses on our unit can be cross-trained in other specialty areas within the Women & Children’s Division, opening doors for career advancement.

Pay

Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within the organization. Minimum rate starting at $32.50, max of salary range is $51.10. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position, they qualify for certification pay of $1.50.

Schedule

Full-time night shift opportunities available, 36 hours per week, shift time 6pm-6:30am.
