About the role

Positions offer options for Full-time or Part-time roles as well as day and night shift roles. Sign-on bonuses available for some units/specialties as well as possibility of up to $10/hr in night incentives for acute care areas. Magnet recognized Bethesda North Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospitals are seeking experienced RNs as well as new grad RNs for a wide variety of units and specialties. New grads and upcoming new grads are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document initial and ongoing patient/family assessments.
• Develop, communicate, and update individualized plans of care, including discharge planning.
• Provide safe, patient-centered care that supports autonomy, dignity, and diversity.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies and take appropriate clinical action.
• Carry out physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Complete assigned care and documentation within required timeframes.
• Administer medications/treatments safely and perform technical skills per policy.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately to other team members.
• Serve as a clinical resource and support training/education of staff and students.
• Maintain current clinical knowledge and adhere to organizational and departmental standards.
• Function in relief charge/resource roles as requested.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
• Registered Nurse knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
• Preferred membership in related professional organization
• RNs with more than 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time acute care experience preferred
• Preferred certification in specialty
