Hiring Bilingual Medical Assistant ASAP

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and notify the provider when the patient is ready.
  • Ensure all lab and diagnostic test results are in the chart prior to the appointment by participating in morning huddles.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in all exam rooms.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, including reason for visit/symptoms, vital signs, weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature.
  • Verify all current medications, contact information, and medical allergies.
  • Prepare patients for examinations.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Instruct patients about medications and special diets.
  • Transmit prescription refills as directed.
  • Manage and order medical, lab, and/or office supplies.
  • Follow-up on diagnostics, medications, and blood results.
  • Utilize computer applications for patient management.
  • Update and file patient medical records.
  • Requirements

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Phlebotomy skills.
    • High school diploma.
    • 2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant, or less with strong work ethic.
    • CPR certification required or willingness to obtain.
    • Athena EMR preferred.
    • Proficiency in Excel strongly preferred.

    Qualifications

    • Medical Assistant certification, registration, or diploma preferred.
    • Experience in reporting/documentation and administrative duties preferred.
    • Experience performing EKGs, giving injections, and administering nebulizers preferred.
    • Experience assisting patients via phone strongly preferred.

        Work Environment

        This position is 100% onsite in a primary care clinic located in Pembroke Pines. The role involves working as part of a team and one-on-one with a physician/provider in a high-volume clinic that sees 12-16 patients per day per provider. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break.

        Pay And Benefits

        The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
