HIRING Autism Independence Program Lead 65-85/hour

About the role

Our Autism Independence Program is a non-clinical service model focused on helping autistic teens and adults build real-world independence, confidence, self-regulation, communication skills, and quality of life. We are seeking an experienced Autism Independence Program Lead to oversee a small team of Autism Independence Specialists while helping shape and grow a new service line from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of 4-5 Autism Independence Specialists
• Develop individualized independence support plans
• Coach and mentor direct support staff
• Collaborate closely with families
• Support clients with moderate to high support needs
• Help staff navigate challenging behaviors safely and respectfully
• Participate in developing systems, training tools, and program protocols

Requirements

• 4+ years working directly with autistic individuals
• 3+ years working with autistic teens and/or adults
• Experience supporting individuals with high support needs and severe behaviors
• Experience creating individualized support, behavior, transition, or life skills plans
• Experience training, mentoring, coaching, or supervising staff
• Strong communication and family collaboration skills
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout North County San Diego

Preferred qualifications

• BCBA certification
• Master's degree in a related field
• Experience supervising RBTs, DSPs, autism specialists, or direct care teams
• Experience with adult transition programs, supported living, or community inclusion services

Schedule

• Start at approximately 5-10 hours per week
• Typical weekday availability between 2:00 PM-7:00 PM
• Occasional weekend availability

Pay

$65-$85/hour depending on credentials, experience, and fit.
