HIM Specialist - Full Time (40 hours/week)
KVH is an integrated healthcare delivery system that includes 24-hour emergency care, inpatient, and outpatient hospital services through KVH Hospital. Clinics and services provided include family medicine, internal medicine, a geriatric nurse practitioner program, home health and hospice, physical therapy, orthopedics, general surgery, pediatrics, women’s health, and urgent care.
About the role
The Health Information Specialist is primarily responsible for the maintenance, auditing, disclosure, and release of the medical record in both paper and electronic format, including but not limited to: scanning, capturing, and uploading documents; analyzing the chart for accuracy and completeness; and reconciling and destruction of paper charts and records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Additional training/education in a healthcare discipline OR prior experience in a health information management department with an electronic health record
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Successful completion of a medical terminology course
Pay
Wage range currently starts at $21.83/hour and goes up to $33.08/hour. Actual wage will be based on years of applicable experience.
