About the role
As our Health Information/Medical Records Director, you will have responsibility for the initiation, maintenance, and filing of resident records in the facility and report to the administrator.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, maintain, and file resident records in accordance with facility policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards
- Organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Delegate tasks, resolve conflicts, and respect diversity
- Follow instructions and accept feedback
Requirements
- 2-4 years’ previous experience in medical records
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Supervisory skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of applicable regulations, policies, and procedures
- Familiarity with nursing/medical practices and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ICD coding
- Supervisory experience
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary
- Accredited Records Technician certification
- Experience with PointClickCare
