Hilo/Forklift Driver - Perishable

About the Role

Move merchandise throughout the warehouse from receiving to a customer’s car door. Complete required paperwork, tag or mark orders, and carefully move product from staging or storage areas into trucks or trailers. Slot move product as necessary and comply with all safety, security, regulatory, and company policies.

This is a union position that pays an additional $1.64 per hour after completing the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for warehouse operational procedures including sorting, loading/unloading activities, product processing, and documentation.
• Count all product prior to storage, compare to the manifest, and check inbound shipments for damage, infestation, and production dates.
• Report shortages, overages, or damage to the appropriate manager.
• Compare the quantity, quality, labeling, and consignee address to the customer order to ensure all outgoing shipments are complete and correct.
• Safely and efficiently operate machinery and equipment, and assist in unloading or loading product.
• Participate in physical inventories as required.
• Maintain clean, neat, and orderly work areas and operate in a manner that promotes safety.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouses.
• Operate a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
• Perform Order Filler and Checker duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED equivalent.
• One year of experience in a related area of responsibility.
• Experience with service, production, or support roles having greater responsibility to perform standard work within the function.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications, web navigation, and basic hardware functions.

• Strong oral and written communication.
• Problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly build rapport with internal teammates and business units.
• Proven track record of taking initiative to accomplish tasks in creative ways with a sense of urgency and assertiveness.

Physical Demands

• Consistently sit, talk, and hear throughout the day.
• Climb, crouch, or crawl when necessary.
• Operate equipment using hands and fingers, manually carry and move merchandise.
• Drive or ride in a motor vehicle.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
