About the role
Move merchandise throughout the warehouse from receiving to a customer’s car door. Complete required paperwork to support the function. Tag or mark orders as requested. Carefully move product from staging or storage areas into the truck or trailer being loaded. Slot and move product as necessary and complete the paperwork to support that function. Comply with all safety, security, regulatory, and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Sort, load, and unload products and process documentation; provide information regarding holes.
- Count all inbound product, compare to the manifest, and check shipments for damage, infestation, and production dates.
- Report shortages, overages, damage to the appropriate manager.
- Compare quantity, quality, labeling, and consignee address to the customer order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct.
- Safely and efficiently operate machinery and equipment as required; assist in loading or unloading product.
- Participate in physical inventories as required.
- Maintain clean, neat, and orderly work areas and operate in a manner that promotes safety.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse security.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a service, production, or support role with greater responsibility to perform standard work within the function.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of experience in a related area of responsibility.
- Experience leveraging technology to perform daily tasks, including familiarity with MS Office applications, web navigation, and basic hardware functions.
- Strong oral and written communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly build rapport with internal teammates and business units.
- Proven track record of taking initiative to accomplish tasks with a sense of urgency and assertiveness.
Hilo Operator Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.
- May also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Physical Demands
- Throughout the day: sit, talk, and hear.
- As necessary: climb, crouch, or crawl.
- Use hands and fingers to operate equipment; manually carry and move merchandise.
- Drive or ride in a motor vehicle.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
