About the role
Owns one core HIL regression pillar so the team stops context-switching across all of them. Builds and maintains automated HIL frameworks, dashboards, and CI so component-, module-, and firmware-level validation on the HILs is fast, reliable, and continuous during the V6 push.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the HIL test environment combining physical hardware (ECUs, sensors, motor controllers) with simulated dynamics for stress and fault-injection testing.
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks, reporting, dashboards, and the AI analyzer; keep CI jobs on the HILs green.
- Expand the 30+ module self-tests and improve the associated data pipeline; own regression and smoke test coverage.
- Integrate high-speed DAQ and bus tracing (CAN, I2C, Ethernet) for deep hardware and firmware diagnostics.
- Partner with robot SW and Nimble Health to improve the simulation models used on the HILs.
- Lead physical pick/pack testing: evaluate and optimize SKU pickability, grip reliability, and placement accuracy.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical, Computer, or Robotics Engineering.
- 1-3+ years validating embedded systems, control software, or robotics firmware; HIL experience strongly preferred.
- Strong Python (and Rust or C++) for automated test scripts and analysis; CI/CD experience (e.g., Jenkins).
- Understanding of digital/analog I/O and robotics comms (CAN, Ethernet, USB, Serial); MATLAB/Simulink a plus.
- Comfortable with requirements traceability and defect management.
Culture
- We embrace challenges and strive to make the impossible possible each day.
- We’re not in this to do what’s easy or to be mediocre. We want to create something legendary and leave our mark on the world.
- We’re ambitious, we’re gritty, we’re humble and we’re relentlessly resourceful in pursuit of our goals.
