About the role
The Highway Department is seeking individuals to assist in the maintenance of Town and State roads and the maintenance of Town buildings and properties, including beaches, parks and cemeteries.
Hours & Schedule
- 40 hours/week
- May be called in after hours for emergency situations
Pay & Benefits
- This position is affiliated with Council 94 and classified as Grade E
- Step 1 starts at $23.05 per hour
- Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period, a step and wage increase are possible
- Family benefits eligible
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must have physical dexterity and be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must be available day or night
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with small engine machinery
- Mechanical skills
- Electrical skills
- Plumbing skills
- Basic carpentry skills
