Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Supporting overall Project Manager by executing project management responsibilities for respective discipline, including, developing hours estimates, scope, etc.
  • Provide design status updates to the Project Manager.
  • Track the budgets of discipline task(s).
  • Oversee sub-tasks within their respective discipline for a project.
  • Executing quality control and quality assurance plans as provided by the PMP for project.
  • Delegate project tasks to project team members.
  • Coaching/mentoring design staff through the design process.
  • Provide consultative services to the client(s), including attending client meetings, providing timely updates, and appropriate solutions to meet their expectations.
  • Collaborate and manage project sub-consultants and other internal disciplines
  • Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
  • Perform alternative studies, evaluate impacts, develop and finalize reports for client.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
  • Design projects using advanced discipline knowledge, client specifications and guidelines using design software and drawing tools.
  • Perform or check design computations
  • Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
  • Cook up with internal team members to ensure alignment and project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
  • Technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • Professional Engineer license
  • 8+ years of experience in specialized discipline
  • Experience generating plans, specifications, and estimates for highway/roadway projects
  • Proficient in discipline specific design software, Bentley OpenRoads Designer preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Written and communication skills
  • Presentation skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with local clients at the city, county, and state level

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking.
  • Loading (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
