Highway Maintenance Worker II - Bridge Crew Equipment Operator (61033372)

Job Responsibilities

• Performs skilled manual labor and operates equipment such as excavator, backhoe, dozer, front end loader, lowboy truck tractor, and motor grader.
• Operates equipment such as tandem dump trucks with trailers for hauling material and transporting equipment.
• Operates equipment such as pile driver, skid steer, and large rollers (> 4 tons).
• Operates small tools and power tools involved in bridge construction and repair.
• Signals crane operator while performing various bridge construction/repair activities.
• Rigs lifted materials and bridge components.
• Coordinates placement of traffic control devices for work zones.
• Assists in emergency or inclement weather operations.
• Operates salt brine anti-icing equipment and snow removal vehicles.

Necessary Special Requirements

• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Must attain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.

Physical Demands

• Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Walking for extended periods.
• Treading rough terrain.
• Working in close proximity to motoring traffic.
• Working in natural environmental hazards.
• May be required to work outside normal scheduled work week; especially during inclement weather.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• One (1) year of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
