Highway Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in Nashville, Tennessee, and the surrounding area. This role involves a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team performing highway maintenance tasks
• Be flexible and available for on-call, night, and weekend work as required
• General maintenance of potholes, fences, seed/sod, and herbicide application
• Road patrol and debris removal
• Incident response
• Heavy equipment operations
• Sign repair
• Bridge work and repair
• Longitudinal Cable Barrier (LCB) repair and installation
• Guardrail repair and installation

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record (CDL A preferred)
• Must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting (provided by company)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic functions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing manual labor
• Ability to operate hand and power tools
• Proficiency in using smartphones and applications
• Ability to adapt to changing work schedules and environmental/weather conditions
• Maintain proper safety equipment for each job

Preferred Experience

• Roadway maintenance or construction experience
• MOT Certifications
