Responsibilities
- Perform Lead Highway Engineer responsibilities, reporting directly to the Project Manager
- Roadway design, 3D modeling, intersection design/layout, and ADA ramp design/grading
- Provide highway engineering support for E&S, PCSM, drainage, H&H, permits, environmental, structure, traffic, and public involvement tasks
- Assist in the preparation of roadway, right-of-way, staging and construction plans, specifications and engineering estimates and reports for transportation projects
- Mentor junior engineers in the preparation of engineering studies, analyses, design plans, and reports
Requirements
- Knowledgeable in PennDOT design criteria and standards
- Experience in horizontal and vertical geometry, roadway modeling and cross section development, grading intersection design, and ADA Design
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum with an interest in highway engineering
- EIT required and PE is preferred
- Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Editions
- Experience with PennDOT highway design and PS&E package preparation desirable
- Knowledge of AASHTO Green Book, PennDOT Roadway Design Manuals, and the PennDOT Project Delivery process
