HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT PROJECT ENGINEER

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction schedules and budgets
• Evaluate and document construction operations
• Complete required project documentation
• Ensure quality control activities are performed
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• IDOT or Illinois Tollway Construction Management experience
• 3+ years of progressive experience in construction inspection
• One or more of DOT construction material certifications
• Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation standards
• Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• CADD (MicroStation preferred)

Preferred Additional Experience

• Experience in roadway design using GEOPAK and MicroStation
• Knowledge of topographic and construction surveying
• Solid understanding of IDOT’s consulting expectations and needs
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license
• Professional Engineering (PE) license

Pay

$75,000 – $85,000 annually
