About the role

This role is ideal for someone who excels at building relationships, exceeding goals, and communicating effectively. You will develop and maintain lasting partnerships with college professors, using your sales and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, listen for business potential, and persuade select candidates to work with your company by partnering with experts in their field.
  • Identify business opportunities, interview professors, and persuade author candidates that have what it takes to become Kendall Hunt authors.
  • Develop and maintain lasting partnerships with college professors, using your sales and communication skills.
  • Call and travel to different colleges and universities in your territory to identify business opportunities, interview professors, and persuade author candidates.
  • Work with experts in their field to develop more interactive and engaging materials that solve the needs of their students and can make an impact in their college career and in the world.

Requirements

  • Living in or near the Reno, Nevada area.
  • Seven weeks of overnight travel per semester, alternating with weeks working from your home office and spending a full week on college campuses.
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required, in accordance with the company's corporate driving policy.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree.

  • Demonstrate the ability to affectively listen, ask questions, think creatively/critically and close new business with prospective customers.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with professors, authors, team members and internal employees, ensuring that information is conveyed effectively and professionally.
  • Handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and customer service.
