High Voltage Utility Overhead Lineman

Gregory Electric is seeking experienced Linemen to join our utility team in Charleston, SC. This role involves the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de-energized overhead systems.
• Apply working knowledge of overhead construction standards and installation.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment.
• Maintain, check out, position, and safely operate bucket trucks.
• Identify primary and secondary voltages and understand grounding procedures.
• Perform rigorous physical labor outdoors and in inclement weather.
• Safely set poles and use tools such as loadbusters, phasing sticks, mechanical jumpers, and all HOT line tools.
• Perform transfers of energized conductors.
• Work at heights (with climbing ability) and in confined spaces.
• Properly install and remove PPE and cover-up equipment.
• Complete other related tasks as required for job completion.

Requirements

• CDL or ability to obtain one.
• Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and a team-oriented, customer-focused attitude.
