About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced High Voltage (HV) Transmission Project Manager to provide technical leadership and guidance across transmission engineering, construction, and project cost management for utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance for high-voltage transmission and substation projects.
  • Review transmission engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Evaluate project constructability, schedules, and execution strategies.
  • Support project budgeting, estimating, and cost evaluation.
  • Collaborate with engineering consultants, utilities, EPC contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Participate in transmission planning, interconnection, and utility coordination activities.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend practical solutions throughout project development and execution.
  • Support procurement activities, contractor evaluations, and technical reviews.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking.
  • Provide technical input during construction, commissioning, and project closeout activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience supporting high-voltage transmission, substation, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of transmission engineering principles, construction practices, and project delivery.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy, transmission, or power delivery projects.
  • Familiarity with EPC delivery models and utility coordination.
  • Ability to evaluate engineering designs, construction plans, and project costs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, construction, and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility, renewable energy, or transmission owner experience.
  • Experience with transmission interconnections for solar, wind, or battery energy storage projects.
  • Knowledge of transmission planning, substation design, and utility standards.
  • Experience working with engineering consultants and EPC contractors.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.

Pay

Salary/Rate: $90-$105/HR (depends on experience level).

This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/week.
