About the Role
Entry-level position. Under supervision, the employee assists others, including more senior-level technicians, to acquire, transport, and set up high-speed video cameras and related equipment at test sites. Assists with system checkout and imagery collection. Uses camera-specific and Windows software to collect imagery. Assists with on-site data review to maintain quality and determine if adjustments are necessary. Provides playback of recorded events for test customers as required. Takes direction from senior-level technicians. Performs operator maintenance on equipment and maintains records and logbooks. Uses point-and-shoot or other cameras to document test setups, equipment damage, or technical infusion/sustainment items. Performs other duties as needed to ensure completion of the test mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Responsibilities
- Assist in acquiring, transporting, and setting up high-speed video cameras and related equipment at test sites.
- Support system checkout and imagery collection.
- Use camera-specific and Windows software to collect imagery.
- Conduct on-site data review to ensure quality and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide playback of recorded events for test customers.
- Perform operator maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain records and logbooks.
- Document test setups, equipment damage, or technical infusion/sustainment items using point-and-shoot or other cameras.
- Perform additional duties as required to support test mission completion.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have one of the following: 1 year of related experience, or an Associate’s degree / Military training in a directly related field.
- Must possess a valid driver's license without special restrictions.
- Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.
- Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.
- Must use “down-time” effectively to benefit test, self, and company.
- Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.
- Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.
- Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain it for the duration of employment.
- Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
Skills
- Desire to learn the high-speed video trade.
Physical Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical, and periodic retests.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for assigned work tasks.
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions, including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must be capable of lifting 60 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to climb ladders safely.
- Must be capable of kneeling, squatting, bending, and standing while performing duties.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
- Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined in the SOPs for Optical Imaging - Stills/HSV.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Secret Security Clearance.
- Familiarity with high-speed video imaging systems and related equipment (trackers, triggering equipment, and motion analysis software).
- Knowledge of YPG ranges.
Pay
$29.42 per hour
