General Statement of Duties
An auxiliary (assistant) high school band director assists the head band director in operating the school's band program during performances. Duties include instruction, rehearsal support, administrative responsibilities, and student supervision.
Essential Duties
- Assisting the marching band director with rehearsals, performances, and field shows.
- Supporting the instruction and coordination of marching band rehearsals and performance activities.
- Aiding in administrative duties, including supervising students during football games, competitions, parades, and band trips.
- Helping monitor student behavior, attendance, and participation during rehearsals and events.
- Chaperoning field trips, competitions, and after-school band activities.
- Providing support to ensure the safe and effective operation of the marching band program.
Additional Information
Salary will be prorated based on the official start date. Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by the school program. Minimum Requirements
- Prior experience working with high school students.
- Experience in marching band, concert band, or both.
- Prior experience supporting or participating in marching band and concert band productions, rehearsals, and performances.
- Knowledge of marching band operations, field shows, and concert band performance practices.
