High School Soccer Varsity Asst and JV Head Coaches for 2026-27 Fall Season
The College Preparatory School, a private high school in North Oakland, seeks a Boys Varsity Assistant Coach and Boys JV Head Coach for the Fall 2026-27 season. We seek dynamic candidates looking to help build on an established and successful program that won the North Coast Section Championship in 2022-2023 and repeated as league champions in 2023-2024.
About the role
Coaching candidates must be focused on coaching soccer and teaching lifelong values of sportsmanship, integrity, commitment, personal responsibility, teamwork, and self-discipline. The 2026-27 season runs from August 10th to November 14th, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Provide soccer instruction and coaching that supports the development of players' skills, techniques, game understanding, and overall growth as student-athletes.
- Organize and execute practice and season-long coaching plans.
- Work effectively with student-athletes of varying abilities and cultural backgrounds to instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork.
- Motivate student-athletes to participate and sustain their interests in the program.
- Be a positive role model for students, coaching staff, and the College Prep community.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all school staff.
- Attend all athletic department meetings.
- Present a positive image to the student-athletes and the campus community by maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Supervise all students affiliated with the team.
- Report injuries to the Athletic Trainer, Athletic Director, and Associate Athletic Director promptly.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable of the fundamentals and advanced techniques of soccer.
- Ability to be a positive role model and provide direction to players of all skill levels, from the beginning player to the advanced player.
- Coaching experience across high school, club, collegiate, and other competitive soccer programs who can effectively develop student-athletes of varying skill levels.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Flexible afternoon and evening schedules.
- Valid California driver's license.
- CPR and first-aid training preferred (or willingness to gain proficiency).
