High School Science Instructor, Brandywine Virtual Academy

The Brandywine Virtual Academy division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is seeking certified online instructors to teach 9‑12 Science to students across Pennsylvania in a dynamic virtual classroom.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor‑level degree in education (required).
- PDE 7‑12 Chemistry and/or Biology teaching certification (required).
- Special Education certification (preferred).
- Experience teaching students in an online environment (preferred).
- Excellent technology proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, learning management systems, and student information systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong skills in working with students, families, and partner schools/districts.
- Current FBI, Pennsylvania State, and Child Abuse clearances (within one year).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging online instruction through live and asynchronous learning.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and student‑centered virtual classroom.
- Differentiate instruction and provide individualized support for diverse learners.
- Monitor progress through assessment, data analysis, feedback, and interventions.
- Build strong partnerships through ongoing communication with students, families, and staff.
- Leverage educational technology while ensuring digital citizenship and policy compliance.
- Manage curriculum, IEP contributions, documentation, homeroom responsibilities, and other assigned duties.
Compensation
- Instructional I Certification: $62,155 – $89,730
- Instructional II Certification: $64,834 – $93,324
- Master’s Degree: $69,353 – $101,911
- Master’s + 15%: $72,740 – $105,924
- Master’s + 30%: $74,415 – $107,845
Location
This is an in‑office position located at the Educational Service Center in Downingtown, PA.
