About the role

Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, targeted SAT prep lessons in Reading & Writing and/or Math aligned to the current digital SAT format.
- Teach test-taking strategies, time management, process of elimination, and question-type recognition alongside core content.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies (including SAT-specific platforms) to enhance student performance.
- Manage a classroom of 20+ scholars in a focused, high-energy environment.
- Administer and analyze regular practice tests to identify student strengths, weaknesses, and score trends.
- Use diagnostic data to personalize instruction and target the highest-leverage skill gaps.
- Provide timely, specific feedback to help students improve section scores and overall performance.
- Maintain accurate records of student practice scores, progress, and readiness.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians about score progress, pacing, and strategies for at-home practice.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, school leaders, and college counseling staff to align SAT prep with broader college readiness goals.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree before your first day of work with Success Academy (a background in education is not required).
- Strong command of SAT Math and/or Reading & Writing content and strategy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for learning and an unwavering commitment to student development.
- Ability to work in person in New York City.
