High School Paraprofessional- Special Education

TITLE: High School Paraprofessional - Special Education Position Summary The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking a special education paraprofessional to work under teacher supervision to assist students with physical, mental, emotional, or learning disabilities in inclusionary or special settings. Creating a culture of "Everyone Learning Every Day". Qualifications Minimum 60 college credit hours or completion of the Paraprofessional Test or Para Pro Assessment.Pass all background checks and screenings. REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Student Services Director GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Board Policy for Staff Conduct Essential Functions And Key Responsibilities Modifying, adapting, and reinforcing lessons taught by the classroom teacherAssist teachers by organizing classroom activities, preparing materials, and supervising students during lessons or activitiesImplementing behavioral intervention plans and providing behavioral supportHelp execute specific accommodations and modifications outlined in a student's IEP, such as providing one-on-one support or facilitating assistive technology useSupporting students with physical needs, health, and safetyHelp students engage with peers, manage social situations confidently (e.g., making friends), and build meaningful relationshipsProvide essential care, such as feeding, toileting, or mobility support for some studentsRecording data on student progress and behavior.Using a hierarchy of prompts (visual, verbal, physical) to encourage student independence. Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal, Student Services Director and other Central Office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Terms Of Employment 181 days; 7.5 hrs / day.
