High School Music Teacher - Faith Christian Academy

About the Role

Faith Christian Academy exists to provide families with a Biblical education and excellence in a God-centered environment. We are seeking a High School Music Teacher to generate, prepare, and teach music curriculum, direct choir and band, and prepare musical programs and concerts.

Responsibilities

• Teach music curriculum and prepare musical programs or concerts.
• Direct choir and band.
• Lead group study, discussion, and demonstration.
• Develop an interactive and engaging classroom learning environment.
• Prepare materials for successful delivery of lessons.
• Motivate students to participate and engage in learning in a clean and disciplined environment.
• Guide students in practicing and incorporating presented concepts.
• Maintain a gradebook through FACTS.
• Communicate with parents via email, phone, and in-person conferences.
• Evaluate and observe students’ musical gifts and talents.
• Direct chapel worship, programs, and concerts, requiring occasional after-school hours.
• Work effectively with colleagues and administration.

Requirements

• Personal relationship with Christ.
• Sound knowledge of music theory with an extensive understanding of the subject matter.
• Engaging teaching approach, recognizing diverse learning styles.
• Ability to motivate students and adapt to individual learning capacities.
• Commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
• Bachelor of Science in Music Education or Performance (education certificate preferable).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Sound judgment.
• PA state-mandated clearances.
