About the role
Kamehameha Schools, Hawaii Campus is seeking an experienced High School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Math (or advanced degree and/or HI state certification in math preferred), 3+ years of teaching experience at the High School level, and cultural competencies to incorporate 'ike Hawaii into teaching.
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of math classes from Algebra to Calculus.
- Utilize age-appropriate instructional strategies and differentiate instruction to meet varying student needs.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and school administrators.
- Work collaboratively as a team to organize tasks and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Instruct in Trades or Construction related subjects: knowledge of tools, ability to read and follow safety instructions, and work at heights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Math (or advanced degree and/or HI state certification in math preferred).
- 3+ years of teaching experience at the High School level.
- Cultural competencies to incorporate 'ike Hawaii into teaching.
- Competency-Based Learning experience a plus.
Qualifications
- Master's or doctoral degrees in one's primary area of instructional responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current age-appropriate instructional strategies.
- Recent teaching experience, coursework, or other activity in primary area(s) of instruction.
- Experience teaching the age levels and subject area(s).
